The cabinet
Wood box of the MoSAP2 is really critical because it's unable to gain a good thermal dissipation of heat especially if ambient temperature is above 28°C. A metal box is a better solution.
On the market there are already many solutions. The so-called "ht-pc" cabinets are really robust but too much big. They appear cumbersome near traditional hi-fi devices.
I've choose the Lian Li PC-C35A. 435 x 86 x 340mm is enough to contain all I need for this project.
There is a support for an hard-disk and a few fasteners that I've removed to make room for this project.
I've drill the cabinet to insert the fasteners to fix the DAC, the hard-disk and the RCA connectors.
Front panel look is awful. Ok it's a pc but...it can not go worthily in a livingroom.
Luckily one of my brother's hobby is woodwork. So he build a custom walnut new front panel with only a push button and a led on it. Thanks Michele!!!
