The software

This is the less prominent aspect only ah first sight. A simple and direct user interface is the feature that meet the acceptance of a system like that instead.

There are so many audio players software for a Microsoft Windows pc, the choice is not so simple. But there are some basic requirements here:

• manage a large cd's collection in groups of interest (classical, pop, rock, jazz...)
• view the cd covers of every group, it make easy to select or build playlists
• play flac file format
• use the audio sound board through an ASIO driver
• user interface well suited a touch-screen monitor

Now the choice is really simple. Only foobar2000 and AlbumPlayer are attractive here. I've choosed the last because the database info is really customizable an the user interface is simple and effectual, a "best of" for not informatically trained users.

AlbumPlayer is installed on Microsoft Windows XP operative system. This system is basically an high-quality audio player so I've to manage the shade of the internal mixer (the ill-famed "Kmixer"). An ASIO driver is mandatory here, but the dac don't provide it. Fortunately there is a solution: ASIO4ALL is a generic ASIO driver for audio device supported via the Windows WDM driver architecture.

The AlbumPlayer software run automatically after operative system startup through the "automatic execution" command.
